Chipmunks on 16 speed is a project by Brian Borcherdt, more known for his work in the band Holy Fuck. The original Alvin and the Chipmunks albums made between the 50s and 70s had vocals sped up to make them higher pitched. The Chipmunks on 16 speed stuff slows the entire record down until the vocals sound lower and distorted and the instrumentals sound closer to stoner or goth rock.
This is so wild and I’m loving every second of Vol. 1 and Vol. 2. Total sludge!
